In 1986 Thompson Target was born on the art desk of Rick Thompson.  Then a graphic artist by profession and a sportsman in the heartland of Ohio, Rick designed the first targets that would soon form the launching pad for the innovative Thompson Target brand.  He believed so strongly in his products and in the shooting industry’s need for new and progressive targets, that he gave up his job at an advertising agency and poured all his efforts into launching this new endeavor.  From humble beginnings in a basement to a full scale industrial building and warehouse, Thompson Target continues to grow as a major target producer distributing high quality targets to sporting goods stores, gun shops and shooting ranges nationwide.
